In the family of electrolytic capacitors, aluminum electrolytic capacitors have been widely developed in the world for nearly 20 years due to their high performance, low price and wide application. In Japan alone, in 1995, the output of aluminum foil for electrolytic capacitors was about 3,000 tons. By 2001, the output had reached 70,000 to 80,000 tons, almost at an alarming rate.

The development of aluminum electrolytic capacitors in China is also very fast. According to statistics, the output in 1997 was about 15 billion, and it is estimated that there may have exceeded 20 billion in the near future. Judging from the development of China's electronics industry, the output of aluminum electrolytic capacitors will be greatly improved in recent years. At present, some of the aluminum foil for electrolytic capacitors in China uses domestic foil, and a considerable part of it depends on imports. In order to change this situation, domestic manufacturers have done a lot of work in localization. Not long ago, the research project of high-pressure aluminum foil for southwest aluminum electrolytic capacitors was successfully developed, and the product quality has reached the international advanced level, which can completely replace the import. It should be said that after more than 10 years of development, especially in the last five or six years, the quality of China's electronic aluminum foil has been greatly improved.

The aluminum foil used in electrolytic capacitors belongs to the category of electronic aluminum foil, which is a corrosive material that works under polar conditions. Electron aluminum foils of different polarities require different types of corrosion. The high-voltage anode foil is column-like corrosion, the low-pressure anode foil is spongy corrosion, and the anode foil of the medium-pressure section is worm-like corrosion.

Prior to the 1980s, electrolytic capacitors mostly used manual chemical etching, and after the 1980s, they were linked to electrochemical corrosion. The purity of aluminum foil for manual corrosion is low (99.3% to 99.7%), and the processing quality of aluminum foil is not high. The linkage electrochemical corrosion requires the purity of the aluminum foil to be higher and higher, and the processing quality of the aluminum foil is also required to be more and more refined. From the purity of aluminum, the purity of aluminum in the 1980s was 99.99%, and the purity of aluminum has reached 99.993%. This is a requirement for electrode foils and an advancement in the technology of the aluminum processing industry.

The improvement in the purity of the aluminum foil, of course, has a good effect on the quality improvement of the electrode foil, but on the other hand, the cost is increasing. At the same time, corrosive media are constantly changing, some media concentrations are increasing, and some media types are changing, which are unfavorable for environmental protection work, resulting in heavy environmental tasks for production companies, which may require a reduction in the purity of aluminum. From the analysis of the latest components of Japanese aluminum foil, it has been found that there is a trend in this area.

The improvement of the quality of corroded foils is inseparable from the improvement of the quality of aluminum foils. From the perspective of Japanese patents, the peak period of the anode foil is in the 1980s, and there are two peaks in the anode foil: one peak. Between 1977 and 1978, another peak period was around 1983. The peak period of these patents shows that technology is advancing at a rapid pace.

From a global perspective, the trend in the development of electronic aluminum foil is as follows:

High voltage anode foil

High-pressure anode foils can be divided into two categories, one is high-quality high-pressure foil; the other is ordinary high-pressure foil.

The high-quality anode foil is characterized by “two high and one thin”, namely high-purity, high-cubic texture and thin surface oxide film. These products are of high quality but costly. Aluminum purity >99.99%, cubic texture 96%. The vacuum heat treatment is carried out under the conditions of 10-3 Pa to 10-5 Pa.

Ordinary high-pressure anode foil is an economical and practical high-pressure anode foil with aluminum purity >99.98%, cubic texture >92%, vacuum heat treatment under 10-1pa~10-2pa conditions.

Low pressure anode foil

The process of low-voltage anode foil is relatively complicated. We believe that it is impossible to adopt a method to meet the requirements of each section of voltage, which can be roughly divided as follows.

Low-pressure foils less than 35Vf should develop corrosion of hard high-purity aluminum foil. The characteristic is that the hard state can provide a large number of corrosive fine cores and corrosion channels. As for DC corrosion and AC corrosion, which kind of power supply needs to be studied. The industry believes that the specific volume of the law can be increased by 5μF/cm2 compared with the soft state method.

A low-pressure foil of more than 50 Vf, the soft high-purity aluminum foil provides a plurality of conditions for the orientation of the crystal face, and a corrosion foil having a large etching hole can be obtained.

Negative electrode foil

The negative electrode foil also has a soft state and a hard state. Japan is dominated by soft electrochemical corrosion, while Western Europe is dominated by hard chemical corrosion. Both have their own advantages and disadvantages. The soft state uses high purity aluminum foil (>99.85%), no copper, excellent quality and high cost; the hard state uses low purity copper-containing aluminum foil, the cost is low, and the ratio is easy to improve. . In order to develop a copper foil-free or low-copper negative electrode foil having a moderate electrostatic capacity and a low cost, an alloy such as AL-Fe or AL-Mg can be used. Among them, high-purity low-copper aluminum foil is added with trace copper as the corrosion core based on high-purity aluminum. The specific volume can be compared with the aluminum foil of high-purity soft electrochemical corrosion method. Because of its low cost, it should win the market.
